Cookie & Tracking Notice
1. About this Notice
1.1 This Cookie & Tracking Notice explains how Tradie View Pty Ltd (“TradieView”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies, local storage, pixels, telemetry and similar technologies on the TradieView website, web application and related services.
1.2 This notice supplements Section 9 of the main Privacy Policy and sits within the order of precedence described in the Product Terms.
1.3 Capitalised terms not defined in this notice have the meaning given in the Privacy Policy or Terms & Conditions.
2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
2.1 Cookies are small text files placed on a device when a website or application is accessed. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags and software development kits (SDKs).
2.2 These technologies may be session-based (deleted when the browser is closed) or persistent (remain for a set period or until deleted).
3. Who Sets These Technologies?
3.1 First-party technologies are set by TradieView.
3.2 Third-party technologies may be set by service providers that help us operate, secure or improve the Platform (for example analytics, monitoring, support or communications providers). Material providers are listed in the Sub-Processor List at https://tradieview.com/legal/sub-processors.
4. Categories of Technologies We Use
4.1 Essential / Strictly Necessary
Required for the Platform to function. These include authentication and session cookies, security tokens, load-balancing and similar technologies that enable login, maintain security and deliver core functionality. The Platform cannot operate properly without these.
4.2 Performance and Analytics
Help us understand how the Platform is used, measure performance, identify errors and improve reliability and features. These may include aggregated usage statistics and diagnostic data.
4.3 Functional
Remember preferences and settings (for example language, display options or previously selected filters) to improve the user experience.
4.4 Marketing / Advertising
As at the effective date of this notice, TradieView does not deploy third-party advertising or marketing-measurement cookies on the logged-in Platform, consistent with the Product Privacy Notice. If this changes, this notice and the Sub-Processor List will be updated before any such technology is deployed.
4.5 Indicative durations
| Category | Typical duration |
|---|---|
| Essential (e.g. auth / session tokens) | Session, or up to 30 days for “remember me” login persistence |
| Performance and analytics | Up to 12 months, depending on the specific tool |
| Functional (preferences) | Up to 12 months, or until manually cleared |
| Marketing / Advertising | Not applicable — see Section 4.4 |
5. Why We Use These Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- operate and secure the Platform;
- authenticate users and maintain sessions;
- remember preferences;
- measure performance and diagnose issues;
- improve the product; and
- meet legal and security obligations.
6. Your Choices and Controls
6.1 Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually block or delete cookies, or set preferences for certain types. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Platform from functioning correctly.
6.2 Device-level controls (for example for mobile apps or push notification permissions) are managed through the device operating system settings.
6.3 Where the Platform provides in-product preference controls, you may also manage certain tracking or notification settings there.
6.4 TradieView does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, as there is no common industry standard for how such signals should be interpreted.
6.5 Where TradieView serves users in the European Union or United Kingdom, a cookie consent mechanism compliant with applicable local law will be provided in addition to the browser-based controls described above. (This section applies only if and when EU/UK users are in scope.)
7. Third-Party Technologies
7.1 We may use third-party analytics, support, monitoring, email, SMS or product tools. As at the effective date of this notice, no third-party advertising tools are deployed on the logged-in Platform (see Section 4.4).
7.2 Details of material third-party providers are set out in the Sub-Processor List: https://tradieview.com/legal/sub-processors.
7.3 Third-party providers are responsible for their own technologies and privacy practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
8. Updates to this Notice
8.1 We may update this Cookie & Tracking Notice from time to time to reflect changes in technology, providers or legal requirements.
8.2 The current version will be available on the Platform or website. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
