Product Privacy Notice
1. About this Product Privacy Notice
1.1 This Product Privacy Notice provides additional, feature-specific detail about how Tradie View Pty Ltd (“TradieView”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles certain personal information in connection with particular Platform features, including account creation, single sign-on (SSO), telemetry, analytics, push notifications, in-product surveys and artificial intelligence features.
1.2 This Product Privacy Notice supplements the main Privacy Policy available at https://tradieview.com/legal/privacy-policy and provides additional detail specific to the features described below. Where this notice and the main Privacy Policy conflict, the main Privacy Policy prevails, except where this notice expressly states a more specific rule for a feature it describes.
1.3 Capitalised terms not defined in this notice have the meaning given in the main Privacy Policy or the Terms & Conditions.
2. Account and Identity Information
2.1 When an individual creates or is invited to a TradieView account, we collect account and identity information such as name, business email address or username, role, job title, authentication status and related profile information.
2.2 This information is used to create and operate the account, authenticate access, manage permissions and provide the Platform.
2.3 In relation to the account and identity information described in Section 2.1, TradieView handles this information directly to operate user accounts and authenticate access. In relation to Customer Data entered into the Platform (job records, customer records, documents and similar business content), TradieView processes that information on behalf of, and at the direction of, the relevant business customer, as described in Section 3 of the main Privacy Policy. Where in doubt about which category a request relates to, contact support@tradieview.com and we will direct the request appropriately.
2.4 The account information described in Section 2.1 may only be submitted by individuals aged 18 or over. See Section 4A of the main Privacy Policy for TradieView’s approach to personal information about individuals under 18 that is uploaded by business customers as part of their own records.
3. Purposes of Processing
3.1 TradieView processes the personal information described in this notice for the following purposes, in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles:
- to fulfil contractual obligations with our Customers, including creating and managing accounts, authenticating users and sending service messages;
- to operate, maintain, secure and improve the Platform;
- to provide the specific features requested by the Customer or user (including SSO, telemetry, analytics, push notifications and AI-assisted functionality);
- where consent is specifically obtained (for example, certain marketing or feedback activities); and
- to comply with legal obligations.
4. Single Sign-On (SSO) and Google Sign-In
4.1 Where a user chooses to sign in or connect via Google, we may receive limited profile information (such as Google account ID, name, email address and authentication status) solely for authentication and account linking purposes.
4.2 Google SSO profile data is retained for as long as the account remains linked to Google Sign-In and is deleted on disconnection in accordance with Section 19.14 of the main Privacy Policy.
4.3 Use of Google identity information is also subject to the Google-specific provisions in Section 19 of the main Privacy Policy.
5. Telemetry, Session and Error Data
5.1 The Platform may collect technical telemetry, session information, device and browser data, performance metrics, crash logs and error reports to operate the service, diagnose issues, improve reliability and protect security.
5.2 Telemetry and session data is retained for approximately 12 months from collection, or until it is aggregated into de-identified analytics, whichever occurs first (subject to longer retention where required for an active security investigation or legal obligation).
6. Analytics
6.1 We may use analytics tools to understand how the Platform is used, measure feature adoption and improve the product. Analytics data is processed in accordance with the main Privacy Policy and any applicable Cookie & Tracking Notice.
7. Push Notifications
7.1 Where push notifications are enabled, we (or our service provider, such as Firebase) may process device tokens and related technical identifiers solely to deliver notifications requested by the user or required for the service.
7.2 Device tokens are retained until the device is unregistered, notifications are disabled, or the token becomes invalid and is automatically purged.
8. In-Product Surveys and Feedback
8.1 From time to time we may invite users to provide feedback (for example NPS scores or thumbs-up/thumbs-down responses). Responses may be retained in anonymised or aggregated form after initial analysis. Raw responses are typically retained for up to 12 months.
9. Artificial Intelligence Features
9.1 Certain Platform features use artificial intelligence or automated processing to assist with tasks such as document recognition, classification, summarisation, draft replies and recommendations.
9.2 AI outputs are generated from Customer Data and user inputs. Users remain responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before relying on it.
9.3 AI processing is performed solely to deliver the specific feature requested by the authorised user.
9.4 TradieView does not use Customer Data or Google Workspace API data to train shared or general-purpose AI models operated by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any other provider. AI providers are engaged under commercial/API terms for the sole purpose of delivering the specific feature requested, consistent with Section 19.10 of the main Privacy Policy.
